Key Details

Premium Leather & Construction
We source our leather exclusively from tanneries that use traditional vegetable-tanning methods, ensuring the kizo belt develops character with every wear. This process takes weeks longer than chemical tanning but produces leather that’s more durable, breathable, and environmentally responsible.
The full-grain surface retains the hide’s natural texture and strength—we never sand or buff away imperfections. Our craftspeople cut each belt from the densest part of the hide, then edge-finish and burnish by hand. The solid brass buckle is cast in small batches and undergoes an antique treatment that prevents tarnishing while adding vintage appeal. Reinforced stitching at the buckle attachment and tip uses heavy-duty waxed thread that won’t fray over time.

Sizing & Fit Guide
Choosing Your Size
Order your belt size two inches larger than your pant waist size. If you wear a 34-inch waist, select a 36-inch belt. The Kizo Belt ships at 38 inches to accommodate sizes 32-36 comfortably.
Trimming at Home
Need a custom length? Simply remove the buckle screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver, trim from the buckle end using sharp scissors or a utility knife, punch a new hole for the screws, and reattach. Detailed instructions come with every belt. The five pre-punched adjustment holes provide approximately 4 inches of range, so most customers find the standard length works perfectly without modification.
Care & Maintenance
Vegetable-tanned leather thrives with minimal care. Wipe your belt with a dry cloth after wearing to remove dust and oils. Every 3-4 months, apply a thin coat of leather conditioner with a soft cloth, let it absorb for 10 minutes, then buff away excess.
Avoid prolonged exposure to water—if your belt gets wet, let it air-dry naturally away from direct heat. Never use commercial shoe polish, as it can clog the leather’s pores. The natural patina that develops is part of the belt’s story—embrace the subtle color shifts and surface character that emerge over months of wear. Store your belt rolled or hanging to prevent creasing when not in use.

Kizo Belt Questions & Answers
Order two inches larger than your pant waist measurement. If you typically wear size 34 pants, choose a 36-inch belt. Our standard 38-inch length fits waist sizes 32-36 comfortably. The belt includes five adjustment holes spanning about 4 inches, giving you flexibility as your fit needs change.
If you fall outside that range or prefer a custom length, the belt is easy to trim at home—just remove the buckle screws, cut from the buckle end, and reattach. Full instructions are included with your order.
Full-grain vegetable-tanned leather does soften slightly as it molds to your body, but it won’t stretch excessively or sag like bonded or corrected-grain leather. The leather’s dense fiber structure maintains its integrity even with daily wear.
You may notice the belt becomes more supple and comfortable after the first few weeks, which is normal and desirable. If minor stretching occurs, simply move to the next tighter adjustment hole. Proper storage—hanging or rolled, never creased—helps the belt maintain its shape between wears.
Vegetable-tanned leather can handle light moisture but shouldn’t be soaked. If your belt gets wet from rain, wipe it gently with a dry cloth and let it air-dry away from direct heat sources like radiators or hair dryers. The leather will darken temporarily but should return to its original tone once fully dry.
Frequent water exposure can eventually dry out the leather, so we recommend keeping the belt under your jacket during heavy rain when possible. A light application of leather conditioner after drying helps restore any lost oils.
Full-grain leather retains the hide’s complete outer surface, including natural grain patterns and minor markings. We don’t sand, buff, or correct the surface, which means you get the strongest, most durable part of the hide. This leather develops a rich patina and actually improves with age.
Top-grain leather has the surface sanded down to remove imperfections, then stamped with an artificial grain pattern. It looks uniform but sacrifices durability and character. The Kizo Belt uses exclusively full-grain leather because we believe authentic materials age better and last longer than processed alternatives.
Regular maintenance is simple. After wearing, wipe the belt with a dry microfiber cloth to remove surface dust and body oils. Every 3-4 months, apply a small amount of quality leather conditioner to a soft cloth, rub it into the belt in circular motions, let it absorb for 10 minutes, then buff away any excess.
Avoid products containing silicone, petroleum, or waxes that can clog the leather’s pores. A dedicated leather conditioner with natural oils works best. Never use commercial shoe polish, harsh detergents, or alcohol-based cleaners. The goal is to nourish the leather, not seal or color it.
Yes—the buckle attaches with two small screws that you can remove with a standard Phillips-head screwdriver. This design allows you to swap buckles if you prefer a different style or need to replace a damaged one.
It also makes trimming the belt straightforward. Remove the buckle, trim from the buckle end to your desired length, punch new screw holes using the existing holes as a guide, and reattach. The modular design ensures your belt adapts as your needs change.
We treat every brass buckle with an antique finish that creates a protective layer against oxidation and tarnishing. Under normal wear, the buckle should maintain its appearance indefinitely without turning green or developing corrosion.
If you notice any dulling after extended use, simply wipe the buckle with a soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a mild brass polish applied with a cotton swab, then wipe clean and dry. The antique treatment means the buckle is designed to look slightly weathered from the start, so minor surface variations are part of the intended aesthetic.
